Kevin Balanda

Kevin Balanda has over 40 years of experience in applied public health, health services and clinical research across the academic, government and semi-government sectors in Ireland and Australia.

He is currently adjunct Professor in the School of Public Health at the University College Cork in Ireland and founder of Eolas Projects. Formerly, he was Director of Research and Information at the Institute of Public Health in Ireland, where he also led Ireland and Northern Ireland’s Population Health Observatory.

Professor Balanda has considerable expertise and experience in the areas of: knowledge translation; the development and evaluation of complex health services and policy interventions to promote health; decision analytic modelling of the impacts of public health and clinical interventions; and health monitoring and surveillance, including the estimation and projection of the population prevalence of chronic diseases.

He holds a doctorate in mathematics and statistics from the University of Queensland, Australia.
