Ali Ibrahim

Ali Ibrahim holds a PhD in Administrative and Policy Studies in Education, and an MEd in International and Development Education, both from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr Ibrahim has co-directed the Institute for International Studies in Education at the University of Pittsburgh and engaged with development projects across numerous countries.

Dr Ibrahim is currently a Professor at the United Arab Emirates University, where he has taught and supervised undergraduate, master, and doctoral students at the College of Education since 2008. Previously, Dr Ibrahim taught in colleges of education in Egypt and Oman before moving to the UAE where he co-founded the Gulf Comparative Education Society (GCES), a not-for-profit organization that enables academic, professional, and educational discourse from a comparative standpoint with a focus on the Arabian Gulf region.

Dr Ibrahim has been a researcher and analyst for two UNDP knowledge reports; was a member of the central team and co-author of the section on higher education in the Arab Knowledge Index Reports in 2015 and 2016; and was a core team member for the Arab Reading Index 2016, and a co-author of the Global Knowledge Index in 2017 and 2021.
