In its quest to facilitate the reform of vocational education and training and employment systems in its partner countries, the European Training Foundation takes a closer look at the recent developments of Jordan in this regard. Key developments include: 1) The Jordan Response Plan 2017-19 and the Jordan Compact which outline specific strategies to improve access to employment and education for Syrian refugees, and to encourage investment and economic growth in Jordan. 2) Adoption of a ‘Framework for the reform of the TVET sector’. 3) Creation of new Centres of Excellence in the form of public-private partnerships in order to better respond to the labour market needs in a selected number of sectors.
