Knowledge Week for Sustainable Development in Egypt

Call for Applications
In collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and AL ALFI foundation, the Knowledge Project* is launching the Knowledge Week in Egypt from the 10th to the 13th of February 2020.
The Knowledge Week in Egypt comes as part of a series of gatherings to promote the Global Knowledge Index (GKI) as an advocacy tool and to widely disseminate it. The Knowledge Week aims at driving active conversation between youth and decision makers through interpreting the outcomes of the Global Knowledge Index.
The workshop aims at unlocking the potential of the Egyptian youth to explore innovative ideas to solve development and knowledge challenges to reach the knowledge society and achieve sustainable development.
The workshop will focus on the six areas expounded in the Global Knowledge Index: pre-university education, technical and vocational education and training, higher education, research, development and innovation, information and communications technology, and economy.
The workshop includes both theoretical presentations and practical group work facilitated by a team from UNDP, as well as well-informed dialogue between youth and decision makers. The winning team will be awarded a prize presented by the Knowledge Project.
Who can apply?
The workshop is directed towards Egyptian youth aged between 18 and 30 having a genuine interest to be active changers and capable to process data and produce analysis and recommendations. Female and male candidates are equally encouraged to apply. Persons with disabilities are equally encouraged to apply. This call is not open for staff or interns working at UN agencies.
The number of participants is limited to 60, which will be chosen on a competitive basis. All expenses including transportation from the city of residence in Egypt to Cairo and vice-versa where applicable, accommodation for four days in a hotel and food are covered by the Knowledge Project.
Interested youth are requested to submit a completed application form and copy of their ID or passport with the subject line “Knowledge Week for Sustainable Development in Egypt” to email@example.com by the 1st of February 2020.
